Get Your Squidoo Lens Ranked High by Google With These Blog Commenting Secrets

A Squidoo Lens is an excellent internet marketing tool that search engines live. Discover these blog commenting secrets for getting your Squidoo lens ranked high in the search engines including Google.

The best kind of links are one way links coming IN to your website - where there is no reciprocal links going OUT.

Commenting on other people’s blogs is the best way to get good incoming links to your own website. Find blogs in your niche or industry that high ranking, meaning they have a PR value of 8. To find blogs with a PR8, type: Your keyword plus “blogspot” into Google. You should find a blog comment on the first page of Google to a PR8 blog.

But make sure that the blog allows “follow” links. If they do not allow follow link, then having a comment on that blog will still bring your traffic, but it won’t help with getting your lens ranking.

Always make sure your comments are relevant to the post, and never post the exact same thing twice.

Make sure that you leave a link to your lens with the comment. There is usually a website field for that link. You will get the best results when you use an html tag with anchor text that matches your primary keyword for that lens.

Another trick is to find .org and .gov blogs in your industry and leave comments on those blogs. Google will add a lot of weight to those links coming into your lens! Follow the same rules as above.

As an alternative to blog commenting, try forum posting. Find a forum in your niche and one that you resonate with. You will be spending some time there, so you might as well enjoy the people and topics of discussion. Most forums will require you to register at which time you can set up your signature with a link back to your lens.

Always make sure in all your blog commenting and forum posting that you provide value to the blog readers.

Relevant Backlinks Are the Key to SEO

These days, any reputable SEO expert will tell you that getting a large number of high quality backlinks from relevant websites is the key to getting good search engine rankings. You must still do a reasonably good job of on-page optimization to put your web pages into the best possible light, but getting good backlinks is what will really move your website to the top of the search engine rankings.

A backlinking strategy for your website will be most effective when the backlinks have the following properties:

  • They come from a large number of websites
  • Back links are from websites and pages with content that is relevant to the content of your website
  • All such links are one way, not reciprocal links
  • They use some of your site’s most relevant keywords as their anchor text
  • They come from websites with good pagerank
  • They come from websites on a variety of IP addresses
  • Backlinks come from pages with a small number of outbound links.

In other words, the number, relevance and quality of inbound links are all important factors.

Getting Backlinks The Traditional (Hard) Way

So how does a webmaster go about getting backlinks for his website? There are two answers to this question. The way webmasters currently do this does indeed work, although it can be quite time consuming, boring, repetitive, and costly. I call this the Traditional Way or (even better) the Hard Way. The Traditional Way consists of using a number of techniques for creating new content on someone else’s website. For traditional websites (not blogs or forums), this means contacting the other webmaster and convincing him to place your link on his site. For blogs and forums, this involves commenting in open discussions, and hoping your comments get approved.

Some specific techniques for getting backlinks the traditional way are:

1. Connect With Top Related Websites. A technique that works well but is really difficult to do is to connect with the webmasters of related websites and find a way to get good content (with a link to your website) onto their website. Most webmasters don’t ever try this because it requires some salesmanship and quite a bit of persistence to connect with other webmasters.

2. Exchanging Links. To get a link exchange, you send an email to the webmaster of another website and offer to put a link to his website on your website if he puts a link to your website on his website.

3. Directory Submissions. Another way to get links is to submit your website to online directories. A few directories (like Yahoo and DMOZ) are worth submitting to. However, Yahoo is expensive (about $300 per year) and DMOZ can take a year or more to review your site with no guarantee of inclusion. There are also thousands of other directories scattered across the web.

4. Article Marketing. The basic idea behind article marketing is to write a large number of informational articles of approximately 500-600 words each and submit these articles to online article directories. The article will have a link back to your website.

Automated Approaches to Getting Backlinks

Since the traditional approach to getting backlinks is so time consuming and expensive, webmasters are eagerly looking for new and easier ways to get quality backlinks. Recently, some more automated backlink building approaches have emerged. These systems show significant promise in greatly reducing the difficulties that webmasters face in getting backlinks. When evaluating an automated system, make sure that it gives you links from relevant websites and that it leaves you in control over whether or not to accept any of the links it gives you.

SEO Tips

Now-a-days Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is best used as a Marketing Platform to make money online. One can make money online only by driving traffic to their website.
You can drive traffic by optimizing your website using some techniques based on Search Engines. So here are some SEO Tips to optimize your website.

Include your most important keywords both in the title and the description of your website so that we can submit it to the ODP with perfect descriptions and titles.

The most important aspect of your website is content. Without informative content users will quickly exit your site and not come back. Having tons of quality content on your site’s pages is a great way to develop visitor loyalty.

Once you have some good content on your site you will need to get some incoming links. Email other webmasters and ask if they would be willing to trade links. The more links coming to you from related sites the higher your page rank will be. Steer clear of link exchanges and link farms. These are being overused and the links you receive are usually worthless because those same sites link to thousands of others. Some search engines even penalize you for using these programs.

If your budget allows, pay for inclusion to a high page rank directory. I have heard stories of people who have gone from a PR 0 to a PR 5 in as little as two months just from getting listed in a high ranking directory. These directories also have lots of visitors so having a listing would also be good for increasing traffic to your web site.

In general the smaller and more classic your font is, the more it implies authority and respect.

Get Website traffic and top search engine rankings in as quick as 24 to 48 by uploading Internet videos to free hosting sites.

Link directories are the best way to start off, if you are trying to improve ranking. Another method to improve your search engine ranking is by submitting articles to article submission directories. This is an easy way to boost your website traffic. But, the benefits are only minimal. You can post a comment or answer questions asked in forum and mention your website in the signature link.

I hope the above article was of help. These are just basics; we have more and more SEO techniques to optimize your website. The Search Engine Optimization Company therealtraffic.com is well known for these techniques. Use Pinging to Build One Way Links

What is pinging?

Pinging is a way of letting search engines know that you’ve created a new post, or updated an existing post on your blog. A ‘ping’ is a message sent to a ‘ping server’ notifying it that the blog has been updated with new content.

What is a ping server?

A ping server is a web-based service that accepts messages in the XML-RPC format. It uses the information in these XML-RPC messages to publish a list of blogs which have updated content. Some of these ping servers run their own blog search engines, and some propagate the information to a number of other ping servers and search engines.

How does pinging work?

Many blog publishing platforms, such as Wordpress, have a built-in pinging tool. In the case of Wordpress, pinging is turned on by default and pings go out to one ping server which updates several search engines.

You can also notify a ping server that you have updated content manually by going to their website and submitting your blog’s name and URL.

One popular ping server is PingOMatic. When your blog pings PingOMatic it then notifies a number of search engines that your blog has been updated. Many of these search engines also have their own ping server as well.

These search engines can then update their listings with new content almost instantly. This of course will give you one-way backlinks to your blog from these search engines, many of which have a high Google PageRank.

4 things you should know about pinging

1. Only ping when you have updated content. Otherwise, your site might be blacklisted as a spam blog, also known as a splog.

2. If you tend to post to your blog and then re-write the post frequently you might want to make sure you only ping when you actually post new content, not on updates. If you are using Wordpress there are a few plugins that make sure that pings are only sent when a post is created.

3. It’s a good idea to ping several ping services, especially the ones that notify several search engines. Don’t overdo it though. Make sure that if you are pinging a niche search engine that your blog falls into the relevant niche.

4. Make sure that if a search engine is notified by a ping server you are already using that you don’t add that search engine own ping service to your list of servers to ping. Because blog spammers have abused ping servers if you are pinging a search engine multiple times your site might end up being blacklisted, and not appear in the search engines at all.

SEO Copywriting Tips to Increase Your Search Engine Rankings

Websites these days are an essential part of doing business. Every business should have one - they are as essential as a phone for business success. But, when people look for you on the web, can they find you?

When people are looking for your product or service, they generally don’t enter the name of your company or your name into a search engine. They type in what they are looking for. So - they won’t type in Mary Jones Premium Furniture, they will type in “leather lounge suites + Sydney”.

It is not much use having a website if you are buried on page 250 of Google. Most people will look at maybe the top 5 results from a search engine - that is ideally where you need to be for your search terms. I use the term Google although there are lots of other search engines as it is the main search engine people use.

Where you appear in search engines like Google is the result of a complex combination of information - but it is one which you have control over.

Here are my top 10 simple SEO copywriting website tips to increase your search engine rankings.

1. Delete your flash front page. Flash is a type of coding that creates animated pages. Flash front pages are pretty - but will totally stuff your rankings on the search engines. The reason is search engines look at the front page of your website as the most important page in the whole site. They expect to find information about what the site is about and what it contains. Without words, the search engine spiders can’t work out what the site is about. If you have a flash front page - delete it. You will see an almost instantaneous jump in your rankings.

2. Page titles are important. What you call each page is important. If you title your page “Home” you lose rank. Title your page with the most important words about your site. It doesn’t even have to be a full sentence - “Leather Lounges | Lounge Suites | Lounges Sydney” is more effective.

3. Clear keywords count. Know what business you are in and work out the words people who are looking for your product or service key in to find you. There are loads of tools both free and paid to help you do this. Keywords are put into what is called ‘metatags” at the top of your page. You don’t see them unless you view the source code. Google is very secretive about whether they look at the keywords in the metatags - but some search engines still use them. Just make sure you use your words throughout your page and in your copy as well. Don’t overdo it though otherwise you could fall foul of “keyword stuffing” penalties.

4. Different keywords on each page. Each page on your website is different. You need to use the keywords that are relevant to each page’s contents. If you use the same words throughout the site, you are costing search positions.

5. Avoid duplicate content. If the search engine thinks you have the same thing on different pages it won’t index those duplicate pages. When it calculates whether or not you are duplicating content - the spiders look at everything including your page template, pictures, format as well as words. Make sure each page is sufficiently different to avoid the duplicate content penalty.

6. Pictures have hidden messages. Each picture or graphic on your page needs to have an “alt” tag put in to help vision impaired people read your site (or to describe the content if someone has turned off all photos in their browser). You can use this to add in another keyword. So a photo on my site for example isn’t just a “man” it is a “business development consultant”.

7. Keep it fresh. Search engines like content that is fresh and updated regularly. Websites should never be set and forget - work out how you can add content in regularly. (I have a blog and my weekly newsletters to subscribers).

8. Inbound links. High quality inbound links are important. These can be links from higher ranking websites or blogs than you. The easiest way to do this is through articles and submitting them throughout online ezines. You can also comment on other’s blogs and include a link back to your site or social bookmark your site.

9. Important stuff at the top. Google has a nasty habit of stopping at about 3 levels down - that means your home page, the next page down and then the page below that. If you have good stuff buried down in your website it may not be found.

10. Keep your navigation clear. Google spiders want to see a logical flow of pages throughout your site. If it can’t follow the flow it can’t index your pages. Keep your navigation path clear and logical.

SEO Elite - Search Engine Optimization Software To Help Improve Your Rankings On Google, Yahoo & MSN

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a skill which can take years to master. Being able to successfully rank your website(s) in high positions for popular keywords at main search engines (specifically Google) can increase your traffic and revenue exponentially. Search engine optimization consists of two separate, yet equally important areas. The first is aspects of the website(s) in question such as page titles, content, keywords and alt tags. The second deals with inbound links to your site(s) placed on pages of other websites. Mastering both of these areas will give you the best chance of gaining quality positions on the most popular search engines.

I think it’s important to realize that when one performs SEO, the only search engine they should be trying to please is Google. Yahoo and MSN are also somewhat important, but having high positions on Google will send you at least 10 times more traffic than having the same positions on both MSN and Yahoo. In addition, since Google is often the most difficult search engine to get highly ranked on, if you can achieve this than doing the same on Yahoo and MSN should not be too difficult.

The basics of off-site SEO are quite simple: get as many high quality links to your website’s pages as possible. One way links are best, but are often hard to achieve. Try and use keywords to link to your site, as this will bring your pages closer to the top of Google’s results when people search for those particular keywords. On-site SEO requires you to use proper page titles filled with keywords (but don’t go overboard and use long lists of keywords as your page titles). Unique content on your pages is something else search engines will reward you for. Placing descriptive alt tags on all your site’s images is another way of helping your rankings.

As I mentioned above, SEO can take years to fully understand. It is the best way to gain free traffic to your websites. If you have great search rankings, visitors will continue to visit your site and you will certainly profit from it. The best SEO resource available is called SEO Elite by Brad Callen. This software costs $167 US and is immensely helpful when it comes to performing SEO on all your websites. How to Use the Myspace Comment Box to Drive Traffic to Your Site

MySpace is one of the biggest and most influential social networking website on the internet. MySpace has over 100 million users, many of whom have MySpace websites. And therein lies one of the most overlooked marketing tools available; the MySpace comment box.

The humble MySpace comment box presents various opportunities for increasing a website’s traffic. By using the comment box to publicize you website, you increase product awareness while encouraging product trial. All this can be achieved by simply including your website’s link in the comment you post.

Your website’s address can be covertly or overtly added to your comment. To covertly add a link to your comment, you simply need to use a simple html code. For example, if I wanted the term, say, “My Link Here” to contain a link to http://www.mylinkhere.com (a fictitious example just for the sake of illustration), the code I would use would look like this:

Come to

<a href="http://www.mylinkhere.com" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview ('/outbound/www.mylinkhere.com');">My Link Here</a>!

Now the phrase “My Link Here” contains a link to my website. This is a natural, contextual way of creating an ‘in-comment’ link. However, it should be noted that most MySpace webmasters filter for comments that may be constituted as spam, therefore you should try to be as discrete as possible.

Some MySpace webpages also ban the usage of html, effectively rendering this technique obsolete. When this happens, you can discretely promote your website. When it is not possible to provide an in-text link to your website, you should simply mention your website’s name. This encourages brand awareness among readers.

This subtle technique is especially powerful when you have a product or service that caters to a highly specialized niche of consumers. By crafting a highly targeted message at a group of receptive consumers, we can produce a heavily synergized and powerful consumer experience.

By advertising in the comment box, you also produce back links to your website. These back links will last indefinitely if they can survive webmaster moderation. This opens an avenue for traffic generation that can last indefinitely.

By commenting on the organic community landscape that is MySpace, you also portray your website in a personable and accessible manner. This is crucial for small businesses. Small business need to be nimble and responsive to the needs of consumers in order to remain competitive and relevant. Commenting in a MySpace comment box allows you to craft specialized messages that are tailored for that particular audience.

If you receive responses to your comments, then you know you have succeeded in generating some product awareness. Following up on those comments can also help you in connecting with consumers.

A MySpace comment box seems like an innocent communications device of the new millennium. However, it could be the crack in the dam that develops into a torrent of traffic that rushes into your website. In the new media landscape, it has become increasing difficult to connect to consumers. This problem will only become more exacerbated as more consumers start ‘cocooning’ in their homes. If you want to learn more about social network marketing, you should invest some time and money in quality information that can make your website traffic explode.

Content Web Site Writer Low Cost Secrets To Explode Your Traffic

To understand how a low cost web site content writer can play a key role in exploding the traffic volumes at your web site, it is important that you start looking at search engines differently.

Just visualize search engines as great huge animals that are always hungry and whose primary and only food is content. These animals have an appetite not just for any content but for tasty, delicious content (valuable, useful content complete with keyword phrases, that attracts lots of adoring readership). The search engine animal is very good at remembering every single spot where they find the choicest morsels of food and not only do they return there time and again, but they reward the sites by putting them at the very top of their lists of priority places for other folks to visit.

So the best way any web site writer can explode your traffic is by generating lots of articles, preferably in lots of 100 or 50. Here are at least two huge advantages of generating articles in lots of 100.

(i) You can decide which of the 100 articles is the best in terms of selling your website ad giving out the most useful (and enticing) information to your prospects. You can then maximize traffic to that article by having all the other 99 articles (with different keyword phrases) linking to a single article. This will have the effect of maximizing traffic to that single article, but if that article has a good strong headline it will also increase the page views at your site by creating a situation where most visitors will view a minimum of two articles (two pages) at your site.

(ii) By posting the same articles to a high traffic articles directory and leaving the links intact, you will end up very high in search engine results (for your valuable article that will have all these links pointing at it.) This will of course depend on how competitive the keywords you settled on are. This could mean tens of thousands of hits for that single page from the search engines very month.

Article Marketing: Join The Content Revolution

Do people actually read the text on your site? What is the use of having articles on your site anyways? How exactly does article marketing ‘market’ your site?

The internet is a big portal where people come to look for information. If you have no information, viewers will leave your site for a better one. When optimizing your site, remember that your website is not the only fish in the lake. There are sharks in there and promoting your site through article marketing is not a bad idea.

So, should you provide content or just dump tons of keywords out there? The answer is ‘yes’ and ‘no’. You should provide great content that uses your keywords efficiently. Keywords are another aspect of promoting your site and it leads the reader to your content.

Once again, if your website is selling tomatoes, you will want to tell the potential buyer about tomatoes and keep him/her interested. You will also want to tell the search engines to direct any tomato seeker to your site by using this ‘tomato’ keyword more than a couple of times, including your Meta keywords and description; if possible, also as the title of your article.

Not only does article marketing increase your page rank, using links (relevantly) through your article will also increase your link popularity. If you are an affiliate of other websites, this will be the great time to include useful money making links into your article. Although be sure to review the author guidelines prior to submitting to an article directory, as some do not allow the use of affiliate links.

Article marketing can also serve as a basis for your PPC/CPM ads. Certain ads use certain keywords, and articles contain words that can draw traffic and revenue to your site: utilize it. Article marketing extends beyond just writing the articles, you also want people to read these articles and develop an interest in your product.

Now that you have created/bought articles that relate to your website, are keyword optimized, and are informational, you can place it on your site and then submit it to several of the top article directories. Placing relevant content with your links on other relative website are great article marketing techniques that can earn you page views. The best way to approach another web site owner is to ask if they would be interested in an article swap, this way both sites will benefit from the one way back link.

Remember that your articles should be authentic and original. Do not collect articles from free article directories, as those articles have been used over and over again and will damage the link popularity of your website. Instead, write articles yourself, exchange articles, hire a hand, or buy original articles.
